What We Make
iPACES

iPACES combines physical and cognitive exercise to slow the effects of cognitive decline in seniors who have early signs of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Based on the work of Dr. Cay Anderson-Hanley of Union College in Schenectady, we built upon our previously developed prototye to develop a comprehensive cognitive experience. Built in Unity and played on the iPad, the game connects via Bluetooth to a heart rate monitor and under-desk pedaler, allowing seniors to go on a bike ride and practice cognitive exercise right in the comfort of home. The new app includes robust, exciting worlds for seniors to experience, different word lists for recall, and built in survey functionality as part of its ongoing role in a research study. iPACES is funded by an NIH STTR Phase I grant.
